Nordic Oil CBD Oil & Capsule Review Copy by Leah Johnson at CBD Origin

No doubt you’ve heard the term “nordic” before, as it refers to people from Scandinavia, Finland, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands. Vikings are probably the most common connotation we have of the Nordic countries, and we often imagine them as fierce warriors who stop at nothing to conquer what they deem theirs (think Thor, God of Thunder!). That same fierceness can be found in the products we have for you today, by Nordic Oil! We’ve got three different types of tincture as well as capsules that are infused with organic full-spectrum CBD. Let’s take a look at each of these products by themselves so we can appreciate the company as a whole.

Nordic Oil 25mg CBD Capsules

First up, let’s start with the capsules. These capsules come in two options: a 10mg or 25mg of CBD strength. Today we’ll be reviewing the stronger of the options, which utilizes a very potent blend of CBD that uses a gentle CO2 extraction process. The white plastic bottle was wrapped up in a calming white and teal label which was relaxing to look at. One thing I liked about the label was the hemp plant design right on the front. Recreational merijuana is often portrayed (somewhat comically) as a green hemp plant with five or six leaves outspread. However, this portrayal showed the shape of the hemp plant as a sharply-pointed seven leaf plant, much more soothing and professional. The label also showed supplement facts and an ingredient list (Cannabidiol (CBD) from Full Spectrum Hemp Extract, Fractionated Coconut Oil (MCT), Soy Lecithin, Beta-Caryophyllene, Potassium Sorbate, Gelatin) on the right of the label and a suggested use and warning on the left side. The label states that each capsule is non-gmo, pesticide free, and third-party tested. Each bottle contains 60 capsules, each capsule containing 25mg of CBD, for a total of 1,500 mg of CBD per bottle.

After I’d finished checking out the packaging, I tore off the protective seal and unscrewed the child-proof cap. There was a wad of cotton (for freshness) that I had to remove before getting to the capsules, which was nice because not all companies provide that. I peered inside the bottle and was delighted to find that the capsules were gel! Nowhere on the bottle does it say gel capsules, which is why I was expecting a traditional clear capsule. The gel capsule was firm and extremely resistant to my rigorous squeezing; it refused to pop no matter how hard I pressed down on it and even retained its shape after a few seconds. Thanks to being a gel capsule, it was very easy to swallow and didn’t leave a bad aftertaste. It was packaged cleanly and professionally and I was impressed with the durability of the capsules. The only downside is that these capsules are fairly pricey: $119. With 60 capsules (roughly a two-month supply), that equals about $2 per capsule. But with each capsule containing such a high amount of CBD, this price may very well be worth it to those needed relief from anxiety, depression, PTSD, muscle soreness, joint aches, and so much more. Now that we’ve checked out the capsules, let’s move onto the tinctures!

Nordic Oil CBD Oil

The tinctures come in three different strengths, all 30mL bottles. The packaging is very similar to the CBD capsules with the white labels and the sharply pointed hemp plant design. All three of these tinctures are non-GMO, vegan, lab tested, gluten-free, and pesticide-free. On the back of the box, you can read Nordic Oil’s commitment to excellence statement. On the right, it shows the supplement facts and suggested usage instructions:  take a ½ dropper 2-3 times daily. Place under the tongue, hold for one minute, then swallow. On the left side of the box, it displays five hexagons that state that the product is non-GMO, vegan, lab tested, gluten-free, and pesticide-free. The entire packaging design was very crisp and professional, with calming colors and easy-to-read font.

500mg CBD Oil Tincture

Since each of these are different strengths of CBD oil, we’ll start with the 500mg first and describe the taste, tincture color, and texture. The bottle was a darkly tinted clear glass bottle. The childproof cap was easily twisted open, with no plastic wrap to throw away upon opening. I carefully used the dropper to suck up the liquid and was delighted to see that despite the dark glass bottle, the liquid was completely clear. The comforting scent of the hemp tincture was wonderfully balanced, not too strong and not too faint. The graduated dropper bottle was boldly marked and easy to read. I filled up the dropper to 0.5mL as per the instructions and gently released it under my tongue. The tincture’s consistency was smooth and was easy to hold underneath my tongue for the recommended sixty seconds. Upon swallowing, I tasted the slightest flavor of hemp, with a very slight aftertaste which was not unpleasant. It’s priced at $39 on the company website, which is a very inexpensive way to get into the world of CBD and see if it helps you.  Now that we’ve checked out the 500mg, let’s take a look at the 1000mg.

1000mg CBD Oil Tincture

Just like the 500mg bottle, the 1000mg bottle was darkly stained glass, but with a white label and teal font colors that were just as easy and simple to read. The 1000mg tincture had a slightly stronger scent and was marginally yellower in color. The dropper bottle was just as clearly marked, with bold black letters that were in large font for easy reading. Again, the tincture was easy to hold under my tongue but had a stronger taste and slightly bitter aftertaste. I assume that was from the stronger degree of CBD. The tincture is priced at $69, which is a little expensive but for the quality, it’s worth it.

2000mg CBD Oil Tincture

Lastly, we have the 2000mg CBD, 4x as strong as the 500mg tincture, and twice as strong as the 1000mg we just checked out. This tincture also comes in a white box with a darkly tinted glass bottle, and a large-font graduated dropper (just the 1000mg tincture), but that’s where the similarities end. The 2000mg has a strong pungent odor of hemp as soon as the child-proof plastic seal is broken and the dropper removed. As soon as I filled the dropper, I immediately noticed that the tincture color was a darker yellow, much like dark honey-colored. The tincture was easy to hold under my tongue and I could immediately taste the hemp flavor in the oil, even as it sat underneath my tongue. There was a very strong aftertaste of hemp that was a bit overpowering but not to the point of hating the flavor. Overall, this was the strongest hemp flavor and definitely the most expensive one (it’s priced at $129 on the website).

Company Information

The website https://nordicoil.com was extremely easy to navigate and even offers bundles for a slight discount on multiple products at a lower price. There are other products on the site as well, including vitamins and topicals if you’re interested in using something other than CBD oil and capsules. The site also has a blog that is up-to-date with new information regularly being posted. I loved the company’s About Us Statement which you can read here. It provides a quick insight into their purpose and mission: to provide honest and simple products that are high-quality. That goal was easily met in all four of the products I tried and reviewed today.

Would I recommend Nordic CBD to a friend?

Overall, I believe that Nordic Oil produces excellent premium products that I would easily rate a 4.9/5, based on packaging, ease of use, taste, tincture qualities, and product craftsmanship. The 2000mg CBD oil was very strong and a little difficult to get used to the aftertaste, but that would be my only complaint… I particularly liked that I was able to try all three varieties of tinctures, as it’s difficult to see exactly what differences are in each product. The 500mg was the easiest to take, whereas the 2000mg was very strong and took some getting used to. The gel capsules were definitely the best I’ve tried, like the packaging, durability, and ease of use was quite impressive.

I highly recommend these products for anyone looking to take CBD for health reasons. Do you have any specific health issues that you use CBD for?
