Frisco Labs Delta-8 THC Products Review by Leah Johnson at CBD Origin

Have you ever tried marijuana for the first time and had a terrible experience? If you’ve ever had a rough high that left you paranoid and more anxious than before you consumed weed, you understand the fear of going through that again. Granted, there were probably extremely enjoyable parts of your high, but the intensity and overwhelming psychedelic effects were more than you bargained for. If you’re looking for just the enjoyable parts of the high while still remaining clear-headed and in control, you’re in luck! Delta-8 THC is a cannabinoid of the hemp plant that gives a powerful mind and body high but doesn’t overwhelm the user; consider it a “lite” form of weed. Today we have four types of products from Frisco Labs to review: gummies, oil apparatus, oil apparatus refills, and raw flower. While the gummies are a fun and easy way for beginners to experience Delta-8 THC, the oil apparatus, refills, and flowers offer a more advanced and fast-acting way to enjoy the mind and body high. Whichever method you prefer, you’re guaranteed a euphoric high that will delight your senses for the entirety of the high. Let’s check out the products now and see what makes Frisco Labs one of the top Delta-8 THC companies in the industry.

Frisco Labs Overview

Frisco Labs offers products that feature many of the cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, featuring the renowned CBD cannabinoid, the lesser known CBG cannabinoid, and the growing-in-popularity Delta-8 THC cannabinoid. We’ll focus on the Delta-8 THC products and prices in this review, but feel free to browse the Fricso labs website at your leisure. Frisco Labs sells both bulk and consumer sizes, so there’s quite a bit of variety when it comes to making purchases. The gummies I received were the 13 piece option that comes with 40mg of Delta-8 THC per piece, for a total of 520mg per pack. For the flower, I received a ⅛ oz 3.5 gram Delta-8 THC Flower Sour Diesel. While I don’t see this listed on the website anymore, the original listing price was $29.95. If you’re a fan of flavored flowers, you can browse of the Delta-8 THC flower options by clicking here. Lastly, I received several rechargeable oil apparatus and dab refills: Sour Diesel (Sativa), Pineapple Kush (hybrid), Blue Zkittles (indica), and Wedding Cake (hybrid). I received two dab refills as well for the oil apparatus, but those have yet to be launched on the site. These oil apparatus are sold for $59.95, and I will update the price for the dab refills once they are live on the Frisco Labs website. While there are no discounts for repeat orders and monthly descriptions, the quantity levels of the listed bulk orders reflect a 10% discount. This results in more money spent upfront, but saves the consumer money in the long run. Now that we’ve gone over the products, let’s check out the actual review of each one!

Delta-8 THC Gummies Product Review

The Frisco Labs gummies were shaped like gummy bears and were delightfully soft and spongy. Each gummy contains 40mg of Delta-8 THC, way more than the usual 25mg that most companies offer, so it’s recommended to take half a gummy to see how your body reacts. The colors of the gummies corresponded with the flavors (i.e., blue = blue raspberry, red = cherry, etc.). Each gummy was coated in sugar crystals, and looked very similar to a cornerstore sweet. I popped an orange one into my mouth and was delighted to taste the familiar flavor of citrus. There was a very faint taste of hemp while chewing and in the aftertaste. The gummies left a very thin coating on my teeth and left my mouth feeling slightly warm. To combat this, I drank a few sips of water and brushed my teeth and settled in to let the gummies work their magic.

I took the gummies at 11:11PM (make a wish!) and noticed that the gummies took about an hour to fully kick in, leaving me completely relaxed and content. I felt an increase in focus and appreciated the ability to relax without feeling sleepy. My euphoric high lasted for several hours until I fell asleep, and I was able to rest peacefully and deeply; I even felt a bit fuzzy at 8:45 am the next morning! This was a delicious gummy that was a true treat for both the taste buds and the mind. My only complaint would be the intense cotton-mouth sensation this particular gummy had. I felt extremely thirsty and kept reaching for a glass of water. Other than that, I loved these gummies and was impressed with how long the gummies tasted, how quickly it took them to kick in, and how long the high lasted. If you’re looking for a simple way to ease into Delta-8 THC products, these gummies offer the perfect method of consumption. The sweet flavor and powerful high makes these gummies one of the best that I’ve tried! For those looking for a quicker reaction time, let’s go over the disposables and flowers that Frisco Labs also offers.

Delta-8 THC Oil Apparatus & Refills Product Review

The Delta-8 THC oil apparatus are a little larger than a traditional thumb drive. The oil apparatus are rechargeable and refillable, and are small enough to slip into a purse or pocket. There is a small oval-shaped window that shows the amount of oil remaining. The oil is a light clear yellow and is extremely thick and sludgy. I recommend keeping the device upright as much as possible to ensure you get an accurate reading of how much oil remains. Each device came with a clear rubber stopper that needs to be removed before using it for the first time. Try to keep the device away from fine dirt and sand to avoid clogging the port while not in use. Each oil apparatus contains one gram of >90% Delta-8 THC. I loved that there was no firing button to press or screen to scroll through; simply inhale and exhale. The Sour Diesel has a sour and sharp flavor, one beloved by weed users across the country. The Pineapple Kush had more of a tangy and sweet flavor but still had the familiar flavor of hemp. The Wedding Cake had a sweet and creamy flavor that caters towards dessert fans. But my personal favorite was Blue Zkittle, a delicious blue raspberry and chewy candy flavor that shocked me with how sweet it was. I was delighted to taste the flavors of each oil apparatus and could easily determine which one was which. Even the clouds were scented with the actual flavor, reminding me of flavored vape juices.

I realize that reaction times will vary from person to person, depending on your body’s metabolism, weight, age, previous experience with THC, and other factors. With that in mind, the oil apparatus took about 5 minutes for the effects to begin. The resulting high was smooth and euphoric, leaving me relaxed and clear-headed. Some of these oil apparatus feature a Sativa, Indica, or hybrid blend. I used the Sativa blends mostly for focusing on a particular task and noted that my focus was sharper and I was able to explore my creativity in things. With the Indica, I felt sleepy and relaxed, with heavy eyes and a lazy mood. The hybrid was a pleasant combination of the two, delivering the best of both the sativa and the indica blends.

I loved that these devices are both rechargeable and refillable. The typical Delta-8 devices are usually an oil apparatus that requires a separate pen device to screw into or a disposable that requires the user to repeatedly buy the same device again once the puff count/battery life is done. The fact that this was an all-in-one device really piqued my interest and I reached out to the company to see if there was a way to refill the device, since it was rechargeable. I received some samples, but as of right now, the refills have not yet been launched. I will update more information once the refill packs are live on the site. Now that we’ve discussed the oil apparatuses and their refills, let’s check out one of the more advanced Delta-8 THC items: the flower!

Delta-8 THC Flower Product Review

Flowers can be a little intimidating to use if you’ve never smoked a cigarette or rolled a joint before. However, you can use a herbalizer specifically designed to heat and smoke flowers. These devices usually come with detailed instructions that walk you through the process. You can also tap out the contents of a cigarette and tamp down the crushed flowers for a repurposed cigarette. For this review, I had a friend roll up the ground flowers and some tobacco into rolling papers to be smoked like a traditional joint.

The joint lit easily but kept going out every few seconds. I had to relight almost every time I went to take a hit. However, this may vary depending on how the joint is rolled and what papers are used. The flower smoke smelled like weed and tasted ashy, but the flavor of Sour Diesel was definitely there, along with an earthy tobacco taste. The joint ashed just like a cigarette, and there wasn’t any coating on my teeth or tongue (unlike the gummies), just a light hemp aftertaste. My only complaint would be that I felt like I could smell the hemp smoke all over my face. To be fair, this isn’t an issue with the flower, but the way this particular product works.

One of my favorite things about using the flower was that it didn’t make me cough at all! Sometimes oil apparatus and disposable devices cause me to have intense bouts of coughing, but the flower was smooth to smoke. This particular Delta-8 THC is a tough product to say how long it lasts, because everyone smokes at different speeds. My flower joint lasted for about 5 minutes, and the effects began around 5 minutes after finishing (10 minutes total). The high was very pleasant and I found myself getting sleepy. The high left me feeling euphoric for several hours and I felt relaxed and clear-headed throughout the entire high. This is more of an advanced-user item and should be treated with great care, as it is designed to be smoked. If used indoors, take care to keep away from flammable objects and to extinguish the flame fully once finished.

Frisco Labs General Information

Lab Testing

Frisco Labs has a bit of a unique situation with their lab testing process. All of the products are confirmed to be independent and third-party lab tested, but that information isn’t listed anywhere on the site. You’ll have to contact Frisco Labs directly to see the lab results. While I have no doubt that the products are of premium quality and are wonderfully potent, it would have been nice to access the reports directly on the website. Perhaps since the majority of the site caters towards bulk orders, it might be easier to have the individual reach out for the lab reports instead of having them readily available.

Hemp Information

The site describes the hemp quality on different product pages that pertain to a particular Delta-8 THC product. Frisco Labs states that the hemp used first- and third-party tested, is GMP Certified, and uses ISO 9001:2015, and FSSC 22000 terpenoids. The entire collection of hemp products are thoroughly tested for heavy metals, residual solvents, and pesticides. The products are free of traditional vape ingredients such as VG (vegetable glycerin), PG (propylene glycol), Vitamin E (which is potentially fatal when vaped), mineral oil, PEG, and other common additives. THe hemp oil is clear AAA Grade and features a 94% Delta-8 THC oil that is nanoized clear. You can click on the different product types (oils, gummies, and flowers) to read more about the hemp products, but the information provided was very thorough and easy to read.

Product Packaging – Gummies & Flower

The gummies and the flower came packaged in medium-sized pouches that were completely clear in the front to display the size, color, and sugary texture of the gummies. A square sticker on the front listed the company name, the type of product, and type of cannabinoid used. Since Frisco Labs offers both CBD and Delta-8 THC products, it was nice to see a confirmation sticker that shows which product you received. The level of Delta-8 THC was clearly marked, as well as the piece count. For the gummies, the amount of Delta-8 THC in each piece was listed in small letters towards the bottom of the label, as well as the recommended dosage. The company website was listed at the end of the label, and the back of the package was black and blank. It would have been nice to see a scannable QR code, expiration date, storage information, or approximate wait time listed, but the package seemed to have a minimalist design that caters to users who just want something simply marked.

The ingredients list wasn’t listed on the package itself, but the website listed the following ingredients for the gummies: organic corn syrup, sugar, water, gelatin, citric acid, natural flavor, pectin, vegetable oil, organic hemp oil. There was no ingredient list for the flower, as it was the raw form of the product and needed nothing processed or listed. I had no trouble opening either of the packages or re-sealing them, and I appreciated the minimalist design. The gummies were sweet and soft, reminding me of the cornerstore sweet, and the long-lasting high (aside from the cottonmouth) was truly an enjoyable Delta-8 THC experience. The flower had a rich hemp scent but was only detected once the bag was opened. All in all, the design of both the gummies and flower packaging was simple and unremarkable, but the products themselves were absolutely wonderful.

Product Packaging – Apparatus & Dab Refills

The product packaging for the oil apparatus and dab refills were quite different from the simple pouches of the flowers and gummies. The apparatus came in a black paper box that looked like it was designed to be hung on a rack or display. The front of the package displayed the company name, with a little hole cut out to display the company name on the actual device. The packaging displays the net weight of 1 gram, and the potency of the THC (>90% THC). The left side of the package displayed the product name (i.e., wedding cake – hybrid, blue zkittle – sativa, etc.) The right side of the package had a marking to confirm the type of product used (CBD, CBG, D8 THC), and showed the total milligram count (1000mg). The rear of the packaging showed information about the device, such as the amount of liquid in the device, battery information, puff count (500 puffs), and manufacturing information. There is a QR code code listed below the company website that will take you right to the Frisco Labs website, as well as several badges on the bottom of the packaging that denote the age limit of 18+, lab testing, BPA Free, USDA Organic, GMP Certified, and recyclable. Again, I would have liked to see reaction times, expiration dates, and suggested use on the packaging, but other than that, the product packaging was very professional and aesthetically pleasing.

The dab refill was neatly packaged in a clear flip-open case and included a tiny syringe to insert directly into the device. There was no information listed at all on the packaging, so make sure that you don’t unintentionally mix up the refill cases! I would have liked to see more of a description on these packages, but again, these products aren’t available for sale just yet, so I’ll update this review once the refills have officially launched on the site.

CONCLUSION

I was truly blown away by the premium Delta-8 THC products offered from Frisco Labs. The oil apparatus was my favorite, as flavored Delta-8 THC is almost unheard of. The flavors were pure and easily detectable and reacted quickly. The gummies were soft, chewy, and sweet, and the effects kicked in quickly, less than an hour. The flower was beautiful, had an authentic taste and flavor, and I loved that I didn’t cough at all while smoking it. These products were some of the finest I tried, with very little side effects. There were some things that I would have liked to be included in the packaging and the website to make them more user-friendly and customer-oriented, but nothing that took away from the actual products. I was honored to sample these products and couldn’t be happier with my experiences, and encourage you to do the same!

Remember that if you’re taking Delta-8 THC for the first time, you should always consult with your primary healthcare physician prior to consumption. Never operate a vehicle or machinery while under the influence of a Delta-8 THC high, and start off slowly with your dosages until you understand how your body will react. If you take too much in one sitting, you can expect to feel sleepy, anxious, and lethargic, so take care to read the recommended dosages and make sure you have a few hours to kill before taking your first dose.
