FOMO Bones CBD Dog Treats Review by Leah Johnson at CBD Origin
Did you know that CBD is also available in dog treats? Today we have a delightful treat for dogs that contains 5mg of CBD per treat! This is great for anxious pups or overly excited dogs that simply can’t calm down. If you’re looking for a natural way to soothe your favorite four legged friend, FOMO Bones might just be exactly the treat you’re looking for!
FOMO stands for “Fear Of Missing Out,” which is what it might seem your dog is afraid of. The company website recommends these treats for scary thunder, any type of road trips, noisy vacuums, your neighborhood mailman, regular vet visits, stressful plane rides, loud fireworks, busy dog parks, pesky squirrels, and nervous licking.
Experience & Effects
These treats were super simple to use, as it’s literally opening a bag and shaking out a treat. I gave these treats to 3 different dogs: a purebred English bulldog, a black labrador/dachshund mix, and an American bulldog/pitbull mix. Each dog absolutely loved the treat and would do tricks and beg for one of these treats. I can’t speak about the taste, but the scent of them was similar to beef jerky and dog food.
The effects of these treats were surprisingly noticeable. The dogs seemed to be calmer once they had the treats, resorting to sleeping or quietly observing whereas before they would bark or be pacing back and forth. I would definitely recommend these treats to any dog-owner looking to calm their canine down.
Quality
FOMO Bones treats are FDA approved, GMO free and pesticide free, and are GMP certified. The use of all-natural ingredients in the treats really inspires confidence for pet-owners looking for a high quality treat. If you’re not sure how many treats to give your dog, there is a chart on the back of the packaging that recommends how many treats to give your pet based on its weight.
They have done 3rd-party lab testing on their products. You can find the results of these lab testing at the bottom of their website. Simply scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on the Lab Results tab. You’ll be redirected to a page of simply worded lab results, done by an actual veterinary service.
If I had to split hairs, and offer any recommendation about this product, it would be the packaging. The packaging is simple and plain, says “FOMO Bones” but the treats aren’t actually bones. The treats, although bone-shaped, are soft and spongy, so the term “bones” might be misleading. The coloring is also somewhat boring, with a mustard yellow and plain white. The fonts are playful and easy to read, but I feel like there could be more colors used to make the packaging really stand out.
Price vs Value
On the site, you have two price options. If you buy the treats as a one-time purchase, it costs $39. If you opt for a monthly subscription, you’ll pay $29 instead. I feel like this is slightly overpriced as most pet owners usually spring for $20 for a bag of treats for their pets. Each bag has 20 bone-shaped treats, meaning out each treat runs about $2 apiece. Considering these treats are about half the size of your thumb, that’s a pricey small treat.
Company Information
The company is located in downtown San Diego, CA, and is a subsidiary of Sunday Scaries. I love supporting US-based businesses, so this was a great bit of information to discover. The company also has 28 reviews on their website, resulting in a flawless 5-star rating. Although there aren’t any reviews on their Facebook page, the website reviews show that their customers are very pleased with the CBD dog treats.
Overall, the company seems to have a good reputation and appears to be trustworthy. The layout of both the website and their Facebook are professionally done, meaning they spent time to design something instead of just randomly slapping fonts and paragraphs together. The fact that they have done lab testing as well states that they want their customers to know exactly what they’re feeding their beloved pets.
The company offers a great backstory on how CBD helped them as humans, and they wanted to spread the love to their dogs. You can read that story here. The fact that these guys took the time to create a tasty treat to calm dogs down says a lot about the founders. If you check out the ingredient list, there’s bacon flavor and natural beef protein, something that dogs absolutely love.
Conclusion
In conclusion, this is one of the best CBD products I’ve seen for dogs. A lot of companies only focus on topical creams or pills that can be mixed in with pet kibble, but this is actually a soft treat for dogs that is very well received. I love the recommended treat quantity on the back, and the fact this is a high-quality food product for dogs.
